Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Disneyland Resort.
Cashier
The hiring process was really fast and straightforward. They're super serious about how you dress, though. I applied and got an email pretty quickly in the same week to set up an interview. When I went in for the interview, they actually offered me a couple of different jobs because of my past experience.
- What makes you want to be employed at this company?
Cashier
I arrived and waited about 10 minutes before being called. I was pretty nervous, but the interviewer was patient and seemed genuinely interested in my responses. The interview was brief, only 10 minutes, and they offered me the job right then and there. They asked if I'd prefer to be a greeter (host or hostess) at a table service restaurant instead of a quick service cashier, and I accepted.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in working for Disney?
- Describe a situation where you demonstrated excellent customer service.
Cashier
I went through three different hiring managers. My first attempt didn't go well, the manager seemed uninterested and I wasn't hired. After waiting on a waitlist for 6 months, I reapplied and had a second interview where I felt I did great, but still had to go through a third interview before finally being offered a position.
- Why should we hire you over other candidates?
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
- Tell me about a situation where you had to deal with an unhappy customer.
