So I interviewed for this cast member gig back in Feb 2020. The process is pretty standard, you know, like any other role… but there’s a twist! After my application 1. met Disney’s requirements 2. passed the CBI 3. and aced the in-person interview… guess what? 4. You also gotta do an intradepartmental interview. Let’s get straight to it. The department manager interviewed me, and apparently, the candidate before me was a no-show. I was 30 mins early, so I totally nailed this super detailed and kinda technical interview. The bummer? I never actually got to work the job; Disneyland closed down the day before my Traditions orientation! Seven months into the shutdown, I got this nicely worded email saying they were rescinding the job offer, but to keep Disney in mind for the future.

I stumbled upon the PhotoPass Photographer job posting online and applied right away. About three days later, I got an email for an online assessment. Two days after that, I was invited for an in-person interview with a recruiter at TDA. The recruiter asked me standard customer service questions, like asking for an example of when I went above and beyond. Even though the recruiter mentioned my experience was a bit light, they really liked me and gave me a pass to schedule my next interview with the Photopass managers. A week later, I went back for the manager interview, which ended up being a partner/group interview since they were interviewing another candidate simultaneously. The two of us sat with two managers who inquired about our creative backgrounds and camera knowledge. After the interview, I was told I'd hear back soon. Two days later, I got the job offer! I accepted it the next day and then received an email about my orientation, called "Traditions" (or a similar park-specific name), scheduled a month later.
