Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Disney+ Hotstar.
iOS Developer
I applied online and the whole thing took about 2 weeks. I had my interviews at Hotstar in Bengaluru back in April 2019. It started with a phone chat, then an exploratory talk, followed by 3-4 in-person interviews. It was pretty intense, they really looked at how well I communicate, my technical chops, and if I had the potential to grow.
- Were there coding and data structures/algorithms questions?
- Did the second interview cover iOS specific platform questions?
- Was LLD covered in the interview?
Senior iOS Developer
The whole process had about 4 to 5 rounds. The first one was a screening to check your basic thinking and DS-Algo skills. The second round was more focused on your platform, for me it was iOS. You gotta know the core topics really well, the interviewer will try to twist problems and discuss them. You need to know why and how things work. The third round was for DS Algo, with 2-3 questions about Array, trees, and DP. The fourth round was about architectural knowledge and system design.
- How would you design Twitter?
- Design a server-driven system.
- Tell me about your basic thinking and DS-Algo skills.
Senior iOS Developer
It was a 3 stage interview process, each round was an elimination round. The first part was an introduction, computer science fundamentals, and an algorithms task. The second part was a design interview. The third part was an interview with the Managing Director.
- Design interview: analyze and propose implementing and scaling payment methods (like PayPal, bank cards etc).
