First there was a chat about what I know about Dishoom, my past experience, and company benefits. Then I was invited to a welcome day, followed by a meal with the team. To get service charge, I had to pass exams on allergens and waitressing.

I applied online and received a text through Harri inviting me to an interview. It was very straightforward, but they were running behind and I had to wait 45 minutes before speaking to anyone. We were offered drinks while we waited. The interview itself was quite short because it turned out that full-time hours for them meant exactly 40 hours per week with no flexibility at all. While it's fine that they have no flexibility, I wish they had clarified this in the advert so I wouldn't have applied. It's not uncommon for full-time hours to mean anything between 30-50+ hours per week. If the advert had been updated to reflect this, or if preliminary phone interviews were conducted to filter out applicants who didn't fit the requirements, it would have saved both me and the interviewer a lot of time. Apart from that, the team was friendly and the atmosphere was nice.
