First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Directi.
DevOps Engineer
Directi came to our campus for recruitment. They kicked off the day with a presentation which I found impressive, so I decided to participate. The entire process included: 1. A pen-paper MCQ test with 20 questions on OS, CN, Linux, and aptitude, lasting 30 minutes. While solvable, there was negative marking. The interviewers were helpful. 2. A coding round where we had to solve a socket programming question in three hours. The interviewers were very helpful, even assisting me with Java environment issues by providing a new PC. 3. A 45-minute face-to-face interview focusing on my understanding of OS concepts and Computer Networks. 4. Another 30-minute face-to-face interview, entirely based on my resume, where they asked about my projects and the challenges I faced. 5. A final 40-minute face-to-face interview about distributed systems concepts, such as setting up infrastructure like caches and load balancers. I wasn't very confident, but they guided me through the answers.
- Could you provide an example of setting up infrastructure to manage a high volume of incoming requests?
- Design your own CPU scheduling algorithm and explain its functionality.
- What is the necessity of DNS and what are the steps involved?

The interview experience with DirectI was positive from the HR email onwards. There were three phone interviews which were moderately to very difficult. This was followed by a face-to-face interview and then a demo test. I got rejected in the demo test, which was beyond my skill level for the role, but it was understandable. The interviewers were professional and took the time to discuss the answers. I'd recommend DirectI for both new and experienced candidates.
- Questions about the OSI Layer were asked in the telephonic rounds.
- Questions about routing were asked in the telephonic rounds.
- Questions about switching were asked in the telephonic rounds.

First, there was a pre-placement talk about why Directi is a great place to work. Then, a recruitment process test with 20 questions, 30 mins duration, +5 for correct answers and -1 for incorrect ones. Around 120 people took the test, but only about 30 were selected for the coding round, everyone else got eliminated. The coding round happened the day after the test. Out of the 30 who made it to the coding round, only 6 passed. In the end, no one was recruited after this 3-day process.
- Questions about Linus and networking.
