Research Intern
30 min zoom interview with HR. Be prepared to explain everything on your resume, and answer some traditional behavioural questions. You also need to learn about the company and show how well you've known about the company and why you want to apply for this position.
- Can you walk me through your resume, including all work experience and projects?
- What does DFA do?
- Do you have any leadership experience?
Research Intern
I applied online and got a first interview with HR. They asked about my background and interest in DFA. That same day, HR let me schedule a second interview. I then interviewed with a researcher in Austin. We talked about my research, why I'm interested in DFA, and they asked me to explain the three-factor model simply. The next day, I got invited for an onsite interview. The onsite included a 1-hour lunch and four 30-minute interviews with VPs, a Senior Researcher, and a Researcher. Lunch involved discussing my research and interest in DFA. The 30-minute interviews were similar, focusing on my research, behavioral questions, and technical aspects like teamwork, software/packages used, and how to handle issues like correcting standard error or serial correlation.
- Can you describe your research project, its challenges, and your contributions?
- Tell me about the intuition, challenges, and details of your research project.
- What sparked your interest in DFA?
Research Intern
It started with an HR round, then a round with a team member. The final round was a series of five 30-minute interviews: four with team members and one culture conversation. The whole thing took about a month and a half.
- What makes you interested in DFA?
- Can you share your knowledge about DFA?
- Could you discuss the Fama Franch model?
