Dimagi Manager Interview Questions

So after I applied, they first reached out for me to do this tutorial and make a small survey using their CommCare software. I also had to send them a writing sample and briefly explain how I'd teach someone who's illiterate and speaks French to use their software. Super quick after I sent those in, they hit me up for a Skype interview. That was followed by an in-person interview at their Cambridge office. This field manager job is basically their entry-level gig, and they mentioned they often promote from within to higher-level roles. Field managers get a 'living stipend' that's apparently the same no matter where you're placed, which wasn't clear until the in-person interview. Honestly, I wouldn't have bothered if I'd known that upfront. It's weird because they're a for-profit company that seems to be doing really well and growing, so I don't get why they're stingy with pay. They do seem to be growing a bit too fast though, and maybe don't have a clear direction for it, because during the interview they admitted they weren't sure where they'd even put me. It felt like a waste of time for everyone involved, which was pretty annoying.

After applying, I got an automated HR email asking me to create a sample app for the CommCare forum. Once I finished the app design, they reached out for a Skype interview. It was pretty chill and just a 'walk me through your resume' kind of chat. About three weeks later, they contacted me for another round. During this second round, they mentioned that Dimagi offers Field Managers around $15,000 USD per year. I decided to drop out of the running then because that salary wouldn't be enough to cover living expenses, student loans, savings, and so on. The plan was to do a case study in the third round.

I applied online and was immediately sent three activities to complete. I was asked to provide a writing sample, create documentation, and build a form in CommCare. My first interview was about a week after I submitted my materials. It was an average interview, but the questions were posed slightly differently than normal. They asked a couple of questions about how I would react to certain situations. They were pretty slow with letting me know if I made it to the next round. The second round was a case study interview that lasted about two and a half hours. They were good about emailing to say they found another candidate.
