First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Digi-Key Electronics.
Software Engineer
First I had a chat with a recruiter who was really nice. Then I talked to the tech team and we had a good conversation. Finally, they asked me to write pseudo code for finding a palindrome.
- Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?
- Where do you envision yourself in the future?
- What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
Software Engineer
The first interview was just getting to know each other, pretty chill. Then there was a more technical interview with leads from the database, web, and ERP teams. Digi-Key seems like a really good company that focuses on teaching and values personality just as much as technical skills.
- Tell me about a challenging situation you've faced and how you handled it.
Software Developer
The whole thing can take up to 3 months if they decide to call you back for a second, on-site interview. There are two interviews: one for screening and the other to see if the IT teams on-site are interested in hiring you. Screening: Not a lot of technical jargon, mostly talked about past projects. It felt more like a casual chat than a formal interview, but that's because they wanted to see how you'd fit in outside of a structured environment. On-site: I was a bit overwhelmed at first, meeting so many different teams, but they were all really friendly and welcoming, which helped me relax. I made sure to show my enthusiasm and since I was talking to so many people, I tried to ease my own nerves by being welcoming to them as well.
- What motivated you to join a particular club or organization?
