Behavioral Technical

I spent a lot of time preparing for an interview that was less than ten minutes. Usually, a company reviews my resume or LinkedIn to get a sense of my background before scheduling an interview, but that didn't happen here. During the phone interview, the interviewer asked for my experience in manufacturing, and I walked her through my knowledge. The interviewer then said they were looking for someone with a specific background in manufacturing and that I wasn't a fit for the role. I understand some things might not come up until the interview, but since that manufacturing piece was so important to them, they should have skipped my application to avoid wasting time.

The interview started with a phone call in German, following my detailed online application submission to the US database. The conversation with the German HR Manager felt very positive and friendly, and the tone of voice throughout the call and email correspondence was also good. I learned that the final decision would come from the US Headquarters. I hope they weren't misled to doubt my assertiveness or toughness just because I come from a Japanese company culture. On the contrary, Guys! :)

It started with a hr phone screen, where they just asked questions from my resume. Then, I met with a panel of engineers for an interview. They asked me some behavioral and situational questions. After that, there was a quiz that involved coming up with an algorithm, how to code, TCP/IP knowledge, and parsing. Finally, I met with the Manager for a face to face interview and a facility tour.
