First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Diebold Nixdorf.
Project Manager
First, I had a call with HR about the job. Then, I interviewed with the Hiring Manager. He asked me about managing stakeholders, using Agile, leading cross-functional teams, and working with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- How do you approach stakeholder communication and management?
- Can you describe your methods for managing cross-functional teams?
- What's your experience with Agile processes?
Implementation Project Manager
I was brought on as a contractor for a six month gig, with a chance to go full-time later. My first interview was with my direct manager and two colleagues. It was super chill. Since my previous project management experience was in construction, there were some challenges explaining how my past work related to what they needed, but you know, you just gotta make it work. After the interview, my contractor agency called me and offered me the role. The pay was already set with the agency before I interviewed, so I took it. After working there for 10 months, a full-time position opened up. I had to compete with external candidates and internal folks wanting to switch to project management. I got the job after another interview with three more of my peers. Knowing that the contractor agency was making money on every hour I worked, I figured I'd get a pay bump, at least to what I thought they were making off me. That wasn't the case. The starting salary was on the low end for the private sector and way less than I was making before.
- How have you dealt with customers who were unhappy because of scheduling issues in your previous roles?
Senior Project Manager
First, I had an interview with an agency where they asked standard questions about my past roles, specifically looking for retail experience. Then, I had a second interview over the phone with the company, where they introduced themselves and the manager explained what they were looking for. Finally, I had a face-to-face interview with the company to go over the job profile and they asked more standard questions about my previous roles.
- Can you review your experience, especially in similar retail roles?
- What is your experience with communication management?
- What is your experience with general conversation?
