Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dickson.
Inside Sales Representative
The process started with a phone interview where they asked about my experience. If that went well, I was invited for an in-person interview. This involved meeting with the recruiter and then a group interview. The group interview felt like they were just trying to see if they liked me. The whole process was a bit disorganized, and it seemed like nobody really knew what was going on. They took a really long time to get back to me, it was a slow process.
- Tell me about your past experience and education.
- What motivates you to pursue a career in sales?
- Could you describe your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
Inside Sales
I’ll admit I didn’t do well here being it was my first interview out of college... but what made matters worse was the Sales Manager on the other end discussed how she “didn’t know what [recruiter x] saw in me” and proceeded to mock my answers. Reason I know this is because she did not hang up the phone after the interview ended. While I’d appreciate any and all feedback/criticism, do so in my presence with nothing to hide. I’m glad the opportunity did not work out because this just speaks to the level of unprofessionalism at Dickson.
- What motivated you to pursue a career in sales?
Sales Representative
The hiring and interviewing process was easy, but thorough. They did a great job of answering all of my questions and also allowing me to meet privately with differently individuals in the company to find out what their job was like. I did not feel rushed and it was clear they wanted to get a good sense of both my personality and if I would be a good fit for the company. They look for professionalism, motivation, and a likable personality among other obvious qualities desired for a sales professional.
- What potential concerns might the hiring team have about bringing you on board, and what would be your response to those concerns?
