Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Diamond Management & Technology Consultants.
Consultant
I was an experienced hire candidate. The process started with a phone screen from an experienced hire recruiter. After that, a senior practitioner (principal or partner) in my industry conducted a one-on-one interview. This senior person then gave feedback to the recruiter, who made another go/no-go decision. Next, I was scheduled to come into the Chicago office on a Friday for a series of interviews. These interviews tested my presentation skills, analytical/problem-solving skills, and my fit for available positions. The presentation involved a short case study where I had to create a 5-7 slide deck addressing a proposed approach or solution. I had about an hour to prepare and then present it to the first interviewer. The second interviewer engaged in a "what if" discussion to test my problem-solving abilities and evaluate my approach, including the questions I asked and how I related my relevant experience. The final interview was with a more senior person who assessed my suitability for open roles and my overall fit with the firm and its culture. My advice is to be yourself; if it's not a fit, it's probably not meant to be.
- What is motivating your desire to transition from your current professional services employer to Diamond?
Senior Consultant
The phone interviews were good, mainly resume screening, asking about my interest in Diamond, what I could contribute, and salary expectations. The in-person interviews involved behavioral questions, a case study, a presentation, and logical reasoning. I noticed a lot of the employees seemed a bit arrogant and stuck in their ways, like they're the only ones who know anything. It seemed like many came from Accenture and were maybe a bit afraid to speak up. The interviewers seemed nice, but with an attitude.
- Can you tell me about a time you interacted with a CFO?
- Why are you interested in Diamond?
- What unique value can you bring to our team?
Consultant
It was a case-based interview process, focusing on the intersection of business and technology. Besides the case interviews, some personal questions were asked. All case interviews happened in one day with people from different levels interviewing. They responded back quickly.
- Given specific business conditions, how would you approach designing a data architecture?
