This whole thing took over 6 months. I met with managers who had no connection to the actual role, and they made it obvious during the interview. The HR people were not responsive, and I had to keep chasing them. One interview got canceled even after I had already arrived at their office. Around the three-month mark, I was upfront with HR about my salary expectations, and she confirmed she could meet them. However, they ended up giving me two low-ball offers, which I declined.

Despite investing heavily in EVP and Brand, a poor candidate experience can hinder talent attraction. My experience started with email exchanges with a recruiter, followed by a struggle to schedule a call. The recruiter seemed disorganized, sending only one meeting link which led to me waiting in a lobby for 5 minutes before realizing they were on a different call. They then emailed asking where I was, blaming me for being late. The interview itself was brief, with no information provided on next steps or a timeline for hearing back. I followed up multiple times over several days and weeks, but received no response. This suggests that potential candidates should be aware that this is not an isolated incident, as indicated by other reviews. It makes me question the later stages of their process, including offers and onboarding, given this initial impression. I would recommend that Diageo train their recruiters on the importance of candidate interactions.

The team at Diageo NA was really welcoming. This was the final stage of interviews for an Associate Brand Manager role, and the company covered my travel, lodging, and meals. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, and New York is such a lively city. The process included a presentation and two meetings with senior leaders. These meetings were mostly behavioral, focusing on my marketing skills and how well I'd fit into the company culture. I felt the presentation tested my ability to present information, handle questions, and demonstrated my overall marketing and business acumen.
