First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DHG.
Auditor
First, I had a 30-minute phone chat with the Hiring manager. She asked some pretty basic stuff like why DHG, to introduce myself, about my CPA status, why I want to leave my current company, who referred me, and why I'm interested in audit.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in DHG?
- Please introduce yourself.
- What's your current CPA status?
Auditor
The interview was pretty straightforward. We started with a brief chat about me and the company. Then, I went through my resume, and they asked a couple of questions about my internship preferences and desired practice area. The interviewer, who was the firm's manager, seemed really enthusiastic about interviewing candidates.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What area of auditing are you interested in interning in?
- Which practice area would you prefer?
Audit Associate
I was recruited on-campus for this role. The firm has a very traditional southern vibe, and during a presentation, a partner made an offensive remark about Obama, which wasn't very professional. Despite that, I attended an on-campus interview and a follow-up office interview. While people were generally pleasant, I felt a lack of genuine interest from their side, and they likely felt the same about me, as I wasn't offered a position. I had kept this firm as a backup option. They do host fun events with plenty of drinks. Ultimately, the firm's culture and its people weren't my first choice.
- Tell me about the most adventurous thing you've ever done that presented a challenge for you.
