First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DH Pace.
Project Manager
The interview process was really fast. I heard back the day after I applied. They scheduled a phone interview for the next day. The in-person interview was two days after that. I got told I was moving on to the next step (skills assessment and personality test) the day after the in-person. Then, two days later, I got an offer.
- Can you describe a situation where a project hit an unforeseen obstacle and explain your resolution strategy?
Project Manager
Even though I worked for the company for almost 3 years before, I didn't get a call back or email this time around. After being away from DH Pace for over a year, I wanted to go back because I liked the projects and people I worked with. I contacted their regional recruiter, who quickly called me and set up an initial interview. After that first interview with someone I knew, I had to chase them for an update after not hearing back for a couple of weeks. Then, I had an in-person interview with someone else for a Project Manager role. It seemed to go well, and they said I'd hear back in a couple of weeks. I never did. This kind of thing might happen with a new company, but not one I was with for almost 3 years. I left on good terms before, with great performance reviews. DH Pace has always had a bad culture regarding its employees, and this just proved it.
- Do you know any door/frame/HDW manufacturers? What kind of projects do you manage?
- Could you tell me about the size of projects you typically handle and your current backlog?
Project Manager
I got an email for a phone interview but was given the chance to interview in person the very next day, with only a two-hour notice. The reception was nice, and the people interviewing me were really pleasant too.
- Could you describe your experience working with vendors, both internal and external?
- What are your salary expectations?
