Behavioral Presentation

The interview process with DFS involved three steps: an initial meeting with the agency (which included English), a second meeting with the DFS contact person, and a final meeting with the Store Managers. The interviews were relaxed, and the people were nice and respectful. Even though my interviews went well, the parent company halted hiring because the store is closing in January 2025.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was professional and managed by different people back in the day, reflecting a different management style and company culture. Managers back then focused more on skills and knowledge, unlike the current focus which seems to be more on language proficiency. This process might not be the same anymore. Knowing Mandarin is a significant advantage, as it seems to put candidates in a better light with the decision-makers, creating a distinction between those who can sell and those who can't. Mandarin speakers are definitely preferred by the managers.

I had a phone chat with HR, and then a phone interview with their team in Singapore. After that, I had two interviews with an Account Executive and then one more application interview. The whole thing was pretty straightforward, nothing too tough. They seemed to care more about how well you speak the language than actual sales skills. The interview with the AE was the hardest part, but HR was super chill and easy to talk to. She was really open about what the job is all about.
