First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DFO Global Performance Commerce.
Social Media Specialist
When I got there, I took a sort of IQ test. Then the interviewer started. It was a pretty chill process overall, and the interviewer did a good job explaining what the role would involve.
- Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your previous work experience?
Human Resources Officer
I applied online and didn't hear back for a week, so I found the HR team's contact and reapplied via email, which got a response. A phone interview happened soon after, and then I was invited for an in-person interview at their office. Upon arrival, I was told there'd be a short logical test, which they called an 'Aptitude Test', before the main interview. I wasn't sure if it impacted the outcome. The interview itself was with the current HR Team Leader and an HR Officer, right after I finished the test. We had a really open and comfortable chat about my background, skills, and the role. What I appreciated most was their directness; they clearly laid out the company's pros and cons, giving me a real sense of the situation there.
- Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
- Can you tell me what you know about our company?
- What's your motivation for applying to our company?
Graphic Designer
So my interview process was the same as others, but I first passed an initial interview with the design lead and creative director, and then completed an aptitude test. After that, they sent me a design exercise which I submitted a couple days later. About 2-3 hours after submission, HR reached out to get my references. I thought that was it, but nope. Once my references sent in their feedback, HR wanted to schedule a final interview. It turns out I was one of only two candidates for this job. The final interview went well, the interviewer was nice and we connected. I sent thank you emails afterwards and HR said they'd let me know soon. A week went by, then two, and I followed up. I was ghosted. It's surprising for a company that claims to be 'international' with offices in major cities worldwide, I expected better professionalism. Even if there were only two candidates, a simple email saying no would've been sufficient, no need to be fake. It explains the bad Glassdoor reviews for DFO. Honestly, I was already hesitant after reading a review about the company selling fake products.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Finance
I received an email with an address that wasn't the company's direct name, but when I searched online, it belonged to one of their brands. However, upon arrival, it was a different company's name. As an MNC focused on e-commerce marketing, the interviewer asked why I was focusing on marketing, as if they don't have that side of the business. The interviewer only focused on online shop inventory, which wasn't really the image of their company. The interviewer was also not polite and didn't ask about difficulties in certain areas, but instead judged why those parts weren't in my introduction. The job description didn't match what they were asking during the interview, and English wasn't tested for an MNC company. Overall, it seemed like an employee who didn't know their company well and wasn't sure about the type of people they wanted to hire.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
