Test Engineer
So I interviewed for a Test Engineer role. It started with a test that I passed, then I had a hiring manager interview. I got a verbal offer, but then the recruitment manager said they needed to check with the team. They ended up having me do another interview with an engineer to assess my experience. Honestly, I felt like the engineer didn't vibe with me, and I even wondered if my disability played a part. After that, I followed up via email, and the response I got was that the hiring managers decided not to proceed with my application. I was really confused since they had me retake the test, and I thought they were interested. It turns out the whole interview process was a mess because they never disclosed the pay rate, which felt like a waste of my time with all the tests and interviews. Plus, they completely ghosted me after I emailed asking for feedback. Seeing other reviews, I can totally see why people have had a bad experience.
- What are your salary expectations?
Test Engineer
I sent in my application online, and then got a call back pretty quickly, within about a week. After that, I went to their office in Camarillo for an interview. It was a one-on-one meeting where they asked me about my past experiences and what my career goals are, as well as what kind of role I'm looking for. Following that, I had to complete a skills test that took at least an hour and covered electronic circuit analysis and devices.
- Tell me about circuit analysis.
- Can you explain digital circuits?
- How do you do base conversion?
Test Engineer
So, I had these two quick phone chats, like 10 mins each. Then I was asked to come for an interview in Dublin. It was a really short one with just one guy. He mentioned he was an accountant and didn't know much about engineering, so we just had a general chat. After that, I had to do this written exam that went on for about two hours. They mentioned the pass mark is higher for an engineering job than for a technician job.
- The interview included a written exam that lasted approximately 2.5 hours.
