Java Developer
I was contacted by a Deutsche Bank recruiter on LinkedIn about an AVP Java Developer position. After the initial call, the recruiter said they'd pass my profile to the manager for interview scheduling. The process unfolded as follows: early April, a call with the recruiter; mid-April, a virtual technical screening (30-45 mins); early May, an in-person interview at their Cary, NC office; and mid-June, a virtual 'fitment' round which was also technical (1 hour). After all this, I received no feedback or status update. This whole process was painfully slow, taking over 3 months from April to June, with long gaps between rounds (sometimes a month). Communication was also poor; after the first round, the recruiter kept saying they were waiting for team feedback. After following up for 3 weeks, I learned through another recruiter that an onsite interview invite for someone with the same name as mine was sent to the wrong person. They eventually sent me the correct invite. During the second round, the interviewer mentioned they didn't have my correct resume. When checked, the recruiter had sent someone else's resume. Two weeks after the second round, I was told feedback was good and a manager wanted to meet for a final fitment round. Despite being called a 'fitment' round, it was technical again. Another issue was that the recruiter shared my resume from 2 years ago, which was in their system, with the panel. Honestly, Deutsche Bank is not a good choice if you need a new role quickly due to their slow and disorganized process. It easily takes 6+ months from start to finish, and they lack basic courtesy in providing updates.

Full Stack Java Developer
The interview process was good. It included 2 technical rounds and 2 HR rounds. They asked questions related to my resume and previous projects. I had to brush up on the basic concepts of the tech stack I worked on. Each discussion was about 45 minutes and involved code snippets.

Java Developer
So I was selected for AVP Java Developer position after 5 rounds and HR discussed the offer details with me. Then after 2 days, HR called me and said she cannot proceed with my application because of budget issues in the team. She then mentioned another position under a different hiring manager and that I would need to go through a couple more interviews. I was called to the office for this and had a good discussion with the new hiring manager where expectations were set. After that, I was told I was selected, asked to share documents, and that the offer would be released the next day. They gave me a job ID and asked me to apply on the portal. After following up for 15 days, HR came back saying there's a budget issue in this team too. So she asked me to have another technical discussion with a different hiring manager. I had a good discussion with this manager too, and was told they wanted to discuss expectations and would call back in half an hour. After that, they disappeared and there was no response to calls or emails. I was surprised by this unprofessional behavior, especially from a reputed bank. I'm glad I didn't get the offer, but they should have been honest about the process. This whole thing took about 45 days.
