Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Deutsche Börse Group.
Software Engineer
I had an initial chat with HR that was about 30 minutes. Then, a bit later, there was a technical interview that went for about an hour and a half. After that, I got an offer and took it.
- Could you refactor this code to adhere to best practices?
- Please write an SQL query that uses joins.
- Can you explain the lifecycle of a Spring Framework bean?
Software Engineer
A headhunter set up two interviews for me. The first one had general questions at the start about my background and goals, then some technical questions at the end. The second interview was a guided interactive coding problem with four interviewers.
- Can you explain how to avoid memory leaks in C++11 code?
Software Developer
It was a mix of technical and personal questions. I had a technical interview with several senior developers. The questions themselves weren't overly complicated, but there was a lot of template code and functions provided, which could be a bit confusing.
- Can you detail various sorting methods?
- Regarding bank systems, what can you say about privacy and security? (code)
