Manager
So I got referred by someone who works there and I went through six interviews. They were all nice but the process was a bit all over the place and not really consistent. I got good feedback the whole time and they said I'd hear back soon. But after six interviews, I never heard anything back. No email, no call, nothing. It was pretty disappointing and felt unprofessional, especially since I put in a lot of time getting ready. If you're not gonna hire someone, don't interview them. Overall, it felt disorganized and left a bad impression of how they treat candidates. They could really do better with communication and respecting people's time.
- Could you tell me about your background?
Off Premise Manager
So first you gotta fill out this super detailed application online. If they think you're a good fit, a recruiter will hit you up via email to set up an interview. Then, you'll have a video chat with that recruiter, and they'll ask you some questions, and also tell you more about the job and what you'd be doing at Duestch.
- Tell me about your current job and your past experience.
- In what ways do you think your background is a good match for this position?
- Given your history with both on-premise and off-premise roles, do you foresee any difficulties concentrating solely on off-premise duties here?
Supply Chain
It was a phone interview with HR and the Hiring Manager, followed by an in-person interview onsite. The onsite interview was really unprofessional. I interviewed with a VP who resorted to personal attacks and harassment, which wasn't related to my experience or the role. I'm not sure if this is normal for the department or company, maybe to see how a candidate handles difficult people or stress, but it was uncalled for. I wouldn't recommend this role to others unless they're okay with that kind of unprofessionalism. Also, expect the pay to be below industry standards. They mentioned they're growing and trying to move up like a sports team, but it seems they lack system solutions to support this growth.
- Can you describe a situation where a process needed to change and what steps you took to achieve a specific outcome?
Training Manager
This was one of the best interview experiences I've ever had. It was engaging, and even enjoyable instead of stressful. The communication throughout the process was clear and timely. I felt respected and that my time was as valuable as theirs. As they told me during the process, they view it as a two-way street, and it needs to be a mutual match. They cared about my skills and experience, but also wanted to ensure it would be a good fit with the company culture. They offered plenty of time for my questions, and were very flexible and accommodating with scheduling. I felt actively pursued, and I greatly appreciate their efforts. Overall, it seemed like the kind of family company that I definitely wanted to be a part of. While they ultimately decided they had to require the specific industry experience for the role, it was still a wonderful experience that I'm grateful for. They encouraged me to watch for future opportunities that may not require that specific experience.
- Can you describe a difficult training situation you faced and how you managed it?
