So the interview started with a self-introduction, and then they asked some questions about basic mechanical engineering. For me, they asked about the iron-carbon diagram and the stress-strain diagram, and some basic SolidWorks stuff.

Found out about the walk-in through LinkedIn. On the day of the walk-in, there were about 100 attendees. The first round was a written test covering aptitude and technical topics in the same paper. Shortlisted candidates moved to a group discussion, and then again shortlisted. This all happened in one day, with a lot of waiting. If shortlisted, you'd be called for a tougher technical round covering core subjects in depth, followed by an HR round to discuss the package.

Basically, there was no real interview. I got a call from DEP and we discussed the offer from another company, as DEP had helped coordinate everything with that company's recruiters beforehand. After that, I got an offer in the mail. I called them to try and negotiate the offer, but they said there was absolutely no room for negotiation on anything. They also didn't offer any extra perks like relocation or a sign-on bonus.
