Manager
The interview process seemed to go well initially, but then I learned the reality of the company. They made grand promises that never materialized. You'll find they don't follow through on anything. During my interviews, they talked a lot about an e-commerce platform they were building, claiming it would completely change B2B interactions and become the next Alibaba. However, it's been over a year, and not a single transaction has occurred on it. They also projected massive growth and suggested they were on the verge of becoming a unicorn. I'd suggest digging deeper into this; you'll likely uncover significant flaws in their claims.
- Can you share your most significant achievement from your previous position?
- Given my stated interest in technology, what aspects of the tech space appeal to you?
Software Engineer
The interview process involves a written round with aptitude, logical reasoning, JAVA MCQs, and 5 programming questions on arrays and strings. If you pass the written test, you'll proceed to a first F2F round where the interviewer asks questions about your written programs and requests explanations. Clearing the first round leads to a second F2F round with a panel of 2-3 interviewers who will ask about CoreJava (Collections, Multithreading), Spring (Core, MVC), Spring Boot, Web Technologies, SQL Queries, Build Tools, and Project Architecture. Following that, a senior VP level person conducts a managerial cum technical round where you'll be given a problem statement and asked to write code in front of them. Finally, if you get through all these stages, the HR discussion is just a formality. The whole process was quite long, but it was managed and conducted well.
- Can you explain the different Spring Bean scopes?
- How do you configure Spring Beans using XML?
- How do you configure Spring Beans using annotations?
Inside Sales
The interview process with Deskera was pretty good, especially the HR team, they were really professional and helpful. However, the hiring manager experience was different. All the interviews were conducted over the phone. I had rounds with HR, HR Head, GM, and Sales Head. The first three interviews went well, but the interview with the Sales Head was a bit off. It was interactive and I answered all his questions, which were straightforward, no technical stuff. I was pretty confident about getting the offer, about 90% sure. But then HR told me I wasn't selected, which was a shock. They didn't give me a solid reason why. There was a concern raised during the Sales Head interview that I addressed and we seemed to agree, but I'm not sure what happened after that.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience?
Recruiter
The whole process was absolutely disastrous. Waited for the interviewer for close to 35 minutes, with no explanation. When the interview started, the recruitment lady came in with her drink, no apologies, just sat down and started asking questions. Throughout the interview, she was twirling her hair, smiling at people outside, but seemed disinterested and arrogant when listening to my answers, circling and crossing on my resume. I felt like she was wasting my time as I have a current job and made an effort to come early. As HR/Recruitment, she should know how to be polite and face a candidate, not act like people owe her. Employer branding and candidate experience is the first step to attract talent. The candidate experience at established tech companies is very different from what Deskara provided. Knowing that Deskara is growing with investments, they should take note because they will be fighting for top talents, and with this atrocious mannerism, they won't find anyone. The interview only lasted 10 minutes because she didn't bother to listen and didn't ask if I had any questions, which I did because I was interested in the startup. Train your interviewers how to face candidates, especially leads or managers, otherwise, there's no point in interviews as you won't get any hires. Build on your HR and image before building the company.
- Could you tell me how many people are in your family?
