Designity Graphic Designer Interview Questions
& Process

The whole thing took 8 weeks. First, there was a meet and greet with other applicants. Then, we had to do a test. If they liked our work, we moved on to an interview with one person who apparently makes the final decision after 30 minutes. I tried asking questions via email as suggested, but no one ever replied. It felt very cold and drawn out, a real waste of time. The only upside was a $50 payment for the creative project. It was demoralizing to reach the final stage only to be denied an offer due to my years of experience.

The interview process started with an unsolicited email expressing interest. I was then asked to schedule a Google Meet call with the hiring manager, which was about two weeks out. The hiring manager seemed really uninterested during the call. After that, I had to sign up for a 2-hour "Creative Challenge Workshop" which was on Google Meet. During this workshop, we all got a different creative brief and had to work on Miro. We then had to present our finished projects via a recorded video sent to Creative Directors. This seemed to be a way for them to see how we handle pressure with limited direction. They mentioned this work would be paid and asked for my PayPal or Venmo. Following that, I was told I'd reached the final stage: an interview with a creative director via Zoom. This interview was standard, covering my experience and past projects. I asked about salary, how designers get work, and the possibility of becoming full-time. The creative director answered everything, and I thought it went well. They said a decision would be made by the end of the week. I didn't hear back by Monday, so I followed up via email (found online) and also contacted the initial hiring manager. I eventually got paid for the creative challenge work a couple of weeks later.

So I had two interview rounds, first with the art director and then with the CEO. Both were kinda tricky, and the CEO really wanted to see if I was passionate about Designity. I think they have a really smart interview process overall.
