The interview process is usually two steps. First, you'll chat with the Studio Proprietor. If they like you, the Area Manager will want to talk with you too. Get ready to talk about Design and Mid-Century furniture. They also want to know how you handle stress and how you feel about talking to customers. The big thing is, don't just ask 'can I help you find something today?'. Instead, start a conversation about what they're looking at.

I applied for different positions for this location and got a callback for this role. I interviewed directly with the store manager, who explained the job details and expectations. They were specifically looking for someone with a design or architectural background, which was interesting given the retail nature of the role. I have a strong interest in design and customer service, and I felt the first interview went well. They then asked me to interview with the district leaders. They disclosed the base salary, which seemed quite low for living independently. Despite this, I accepted and waited for the second interview. It took two weeks for them to schedule a phone interview, and in the meantime, I accepted a different job offer.

The process included standard interview questions and a self-assessment test. The interviewer was nice and friendly, enthusiastic about the company, and made me feel comfortable. The whole thing took about an hour. After the interview, I got a tour of the showroom and learned about the self-assessment test, which takes 25 minutes and doesn't have right or wrong answers. The interview questions focused on past jobs and what you liked or disliked about them.
