First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Design Bridge and Partners.
Client Executive
The hiring manager and HR were great, very responsive. The interview itself lasted about an hour and included about five general questions. Unfortunately, I was rejected because they can't sponsor a working visa, so if you're a foreigner, it's probably best to ask about this upfront.
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
- Can you describe a recent challenge you encountered?
Intern
We were given a conceptual brief to prepare a short presentation with ideas and possible designs. I also had to present my portfolio and answer common interview questions. The Design Director and a Creative Director from two different groups were present.
- What makes you want to join DB? Which of DB's projects do you like the most?
- Which brand would you choose to work for if you had the option, and what's your reasoning?
Designer
A recruiter from the London DB team reached out about a Designer role. I had good initial and second interviews with the Creative Directors. But then the recruiter stopped responding to calls and emails, and I never heard back about my application status. It was a really disappointing experience. I was excited about the job, spent a lot of time prepping, and changed my schedule for the interviews. This isn't the first time this recruiter has ghosted me either; it happened before during a screening call. It felt like a big waste of my time and was unprofessional. At least giving feedback or an update to people who want to join should be easy.
- Looking back at this project, what changes would you have made?
- From your current role, what's a key takeaway you've gained?
- What's your motivation for focusing on branding?
New Business Manager
I had an initial screening call with the TA, followed by an online first stage interview which went well. However, I had to chase them for an update, otherwise I would have been ghosted. Apparently, there were internal changes and they thought I wouldn't be interested anymore. I insisted on a second interview and had an in-person one at their office. I had to present a task to a panel of 3 people and have since been ghosted again. It's not a great way to handle interviews, especially after I spent time on the task, and I expected some feedback.
- Can you describe your prospecting strategy?
- Explain your process for acquiring a new client.
