The initial screening conversations with the Talent Acquisition Specialist made me feel like Descartes was genuinely interested in my thought process, collaboration style, and customer relationship approach. Following those chats, I was asked to put together and deliver a mock quarterly business review, and also do a role-play exercise. These practical and useful activities gave me a good sense of the customer relationships Descartes values. When a tech issue cut short my first chat with a senior leader, they were quick to reschedule, showing flexibility and respect for my time. The Talent Acquisition Specialist kept me in the loop throughout, and I really appreciated the transparency.

Behavioral Technical Case

Recruiter reached out for a half an hour interview. To move on, I had to complete an online survey about sales and the sales process, which took an hour. Next, I met with the head of Customer Success. They didn't ask about my background at all, just focused on how I'd upsell services and my approach. They mentioned the role pays between $70-75K but could only offer $70K. It was a condescending 1-hour interview, but I remained professional.

Behavioral Technical

It was a pretty straightforward process overall. Started with an initial phone screening, then a one-on-one with the hiring manager, and finally a dual interview with both the department head and the hiring manager. The talent acquisition coordinator was really nice and helpful throughout. The whole thing took about 3-4 weeks.
