Got a call from HR to set up a screening interview. After scheduling it, the process was pretty straightforward. I just waited for the scheduled date and then got the phone call, which was about 20 minutes long.

You have to apply on the HR site first with your resume and cover letter, cover letter is pretty important because they use it to gauge your skills. Then you'll interview with the entire team, one on one. The final step is a 15 min presentation on a career related topic. They use the cover letter to assess skills. In prep, think about how your services affect students and what you would do to connect with students, how your team helps the university meet it's goals, etc. The staff is friendly and the interview process is professional and straightforward, but it's long.

Hiring at DePaul is quite slow, as is typical for universities. I waited two months after applying before the initial phone interview, almost giving up hope. Usually, there's a 30-minute phone screen with common questions like 'Why this job?' and 'Describe a challenge and how you handled it.' Then came a group interview with the whole department and HR (3 people), followed by a meeting with the boss. It's crucial to highlight DePaul's mission and values throughout the interview, as they're central to all the work here.
