First, I had to fill out this really long eight-page application online. Then, I had to get Garda vetting, proof that I'm a registered teacher, and some written references. After all that paperwork, I had the actual interview. It was with four people from the Board and lasted about 30 minutes. I kind of felt like the job was already decided, which happens a lot in teaching. It's also pretty well known that who you know matters more than what you know in this field.
