I chatted with the director of operations in a casual, restaurant setting. She told me about her career path and I shared mine. We also went over the restaurant's history. It was a relaxed atmosphere, so I felt comfortable being myself and wasn't stressed or intimidated.

You'll need to send in your resume first. Then, you'll go through a couple of interviews and complete an online or phone questionnaire. After that, they'll do a background check, check your references, and you'll have to take a drug test. If that all checks out, they'll offer you the job. This whole thing is pretty straightforward if you're already in the restaurant business because the interviewers are basically looking for those rehearsed answers that make you sound like the best candidate ever.

Denny's contacted me and set up an interview. I met with 2 District Supervisors for the initial interview. Following that, I met with 2 General Managers and then spent a follow-up day with the management team. This day provided great insight into the daily responsibilities of the Management team. Afterwards, I was offered a General Manager position.
