First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dematic.
Control Engineer
The interview was conducted by a project manager and two control engineers. While the control engineers' questions were straightforward, I struggled with the question posed by the project manager. This particular question significantly impacted my overall interview performance.
- How would you handle guiding someone who doesn't know how to drive a car through a phone call to reach a hospital?
Controls Engineer
The interview process started with a phone call with the hiring manager and service manager to discuss technical skills and work knowledge related to the role. It went well and they invited me for a face-to-face interview. Next, I met with HR and the service manager to go over the role in more detail, answer HR-related questions, and discuss salary expectations. Things seemed positive, and then they sent me an online psychometric test. It took about 4.5 hours and covered verbal, numerical, spatial, logical, and conceptual reasoning, and it was quite difficult. I felt I did well, but a week later I got an email saying the results weren't what they hoped for. I suspect my salary expectations might have been too high.
- What's your motivation for joining our company?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- How would you handle a significant issue if it arose with a customer?
Automation Engineer
The interviewer seemed a bit green, just going through a list of questions without really caring about what I wanted or what drove me. It was a bit awkward.
- Can you describe your English language skills?
- What types of PLCs have you worked with in your career?
