Lead Development Representative
I applied for DF via Intuit's career site. About 1.5 months later, a recruiter from Atlanta emailed me for a phone interview. It went well, and she set up an in-person interview at the DF office in San Francisco for the next week. The in-person interview had 3 parts, with each interviewer asking basically the same things. They mentioned they'd let me know within about a week and a half, possibly sooner. A week passed, no word. I followed up, and they said they were waiting on final review. Another week and a half passed, still nothing. After two weeks, I followed up again, and the recruiter then said they'd just received the notification and I didn't get it. I was kind of relieved because I figured they wouldn't have bothered to tell me if I hadn't followed up. It's been a month since the interview, and the recruiter just emailed to say I didn't get the job. If I hadn't called, I'd still be waiting to find out. Not efficient, and not the 'week and a half' they promised.
- Why did you choose this position, noting it's not a glamorous position?
- Tell me about a time you failed.
Lead Development Representative
Applied online through Craigslist and got a response from the recruiter. They had a different role open than I applied for, but I was okay with that since I wanted to get into a company like this. We set up an interview, and it's exactly like others have described. It was 4 back-to-back 15-minute interviews with different managers, which was pretty intense. By the end, I was completely disoriented and unsure if I did well or bombed it. When an interviewer's time was up, they'd thank me and the next one would come in, so it moved really quickly.
- Can you tell me about any sales books you've read?
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?
Lead Development Representative
It starts with a phone call, then you meet with 4 different managers. They'll ask you a bunch of "tell me about a time" questions and you'll do a mock prospecting call. Afterwards, they'll ask you how you think it went. About a week later, you'll speak with the manager who seemed to like you the most, and they'll probably want to hire you.
- What's your strategy for prospecting?
