So I interviewed with Demandbase recently, and it was a really good experience. They had a five-round process, which felt pretty thorough. It gave me a good chance to show what I can do and also learn about what's important to them as a company. Everyone I talked to seemed to know their stuff, were really enthusiastic, and actually seemed interested in my background and what I thought. They really emphasized that strong product management skills are key. It seems like they care more about having good PM skills than knowing the industry inside and out right away, which shows they're serious about growing their talent. And the recruiter was super communicative and helpful, which made everything go smoothly.

The HR reached out on LinkedIn and after the initial screening on phone call, I was scheduled for a product sense interview. The interviewer introduced himself and then asked for a quick intro. He then proceeded to ask the product sense question. As I answered, the interviewer asked relevant clarifying questions. Was respectful overall. The interviewer mentioned that he liked the solutions I provided. After a couple of days, the HR reached out that they are moving ahead with other candidates with better domain expertise. I followed up asking if I am being rejected because I did not do well in the product sense interview or because my experience did not have enough domain expertise. I did not get a response back.

A bunch of initial emails between uncoordinated recruiters. Finally after 3 weeks a recruiter screen was set up. That was followed up with a discussion with hiring manager and a product sense discussion. Got a rejection email stating that more domain experience was needed but none of the discussions really every spoke about the actual job and my experience. Felt like a waste of time.
