Program Manager
HR reached out to set up an initial phone interview with basic screening questions. Then I had another phone interview where one of the tasks was to leave a voicemail pretending to call a potential student. After that, I had an in-person interview where I had to complete a formal application and an online personality test. Following the in-person, there was another phone interview and an in-person interview. I was told they had two strong candidates for one spot in that group, but since I was great, they wanted me to interview with another group. Throughout the process, I was kept informed of my status and given timelines for feedback. However, the final phone interview felt rushed, and the interviewer ended it early due to another meeting, leaving me without a timeline or feedback. After a three-month process with expectations set that they wanted to hire me, I never received any communication about the final outcome. It was a disappointing and unprofessional ending.
- What are the top three qualities of a successful salesperson?
- Given a target of X applications, what's your estimated number of obtainable applications?
- Record a voicemail asking a prospective student to call you back.
Program Manager
The interview process is quite drawn out, with several interviews happening about a week apart. It started with a phone call from the company Recruiter, then a phone interview with a Director of Admissions. After that, there was a voicemail audition, followed by an in-person meeting with another Director of Admissions. Then came another voicemail audition, and finally, phone interviews with both the Asst VP of Admissions and the VP of admissions. The questions were very practical, really focusing on ensuring you understand the job and can fit into the role and culture.
- Could you role play a sales call, either in your current job or how you envision it in this role?
Program Manager
They have a really thorough and detailed interview process. It took 9 meetings, mostly phone calls, and almost 7 weeks to get an offer. They do a credit and full background check, but no drug test. You'll meet with people from your direct manager all the way up to senior management. This happens after you get a chance to shadow and see the culture and environment, which is above average.
- Can you describe the process for a recruiting position?
- How do you identify sales cues and objections during an interview?
- When closing an interview, how do you address any remaining concerns?
