First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Delta Dental Ins..
Appeals Specialist
I had a call with the recruiter that went well, and they scheduled a video interview. The lead and manager were supposed to conduct it. On the day of the interview, I joined the video call, but it was suddenly canceled. The recruiter then called me asking why I wasn't in the meeting, even though I was there and no reason was given for the cancellation. After this point, things started going downhill. The recruiter rescheduled, but the day before the new interview, she canceled again with a reason that didn't make sense: not enough people for classroom training and not enough 'bandwidth' for shadow training. This makes me wonder why they are hiring for the position at all. I'm very disappointed and shocked by how unprofessional this company is.

Appeals Specialist
The interview process was quite bad. After waiting over 3 weeks for a follow-up, the HR coordinator only tried scheduling interviews after 8 PM EST. When the interview finally happened, the supervisor from a different team conducted it, stating it was for another supervisor and they clearly didn't want to be there. The 45-minute interview ended up being only 15 minutes long. The interviewer was 14 minutes late and then said they wouldn't ask questions because they trusted me, ending the meeting soon after. It's unfortunate that this company doesn't value people's time and doesn't seem to take hiring seriously.
- Describe a situation where you had to resolve a problem under a tight deadline.
Application Analyst
This role involved multiple interviews, starting with an HR chat and going all the way up to a meeting with a Director. I went through 5 total rounds. The final round was pretty tough and threw me off. Some interviews were quick, while others lasted up to an hour.
- Where do you see yourself heading in your career?
Product Owner
The interview process included a phone screening and four interviews with five people. The first was a 15-minute phone screen with the recruiter. Then there was a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager/director. After that, a 1-hour interview with two product owners. Next, a 30-minute interview with the project manager. Finally, a 30-minute interview with the UI designer. I'd say the process was quite grueling, but it was for a direct FTE position, which usually takes a bit longer. I wasn't impressed with the company's organization and follow-up. The recruiter emailed me twice to say she'd let me know a status post-interviews, but that never happened. She also told me about a formal offer they had made me after my first interview and to expect it in my email, but it turned out to be a mix-up with someone of the same name for a different role.
- Behavioral, process, and product management questions were asked.
- The first interview was pretty standard and a bit of an organic conversation.
- The second interview was 45 minutes of being grilled with standard product management interview questions, followed by 15 minutes for me to ask questions.
