Member Service Representative
I applied for a Member Service Representative role that mentioned needing sales or CSR experience. I contacted the recruiter about the job description saying either experience was okay. A new posting for a later start date now requires both sales AND CSR experience. They might lead you on by moving you from the phone screening to online interviews and even a final call with employees, saying your answers were great and you'd fit in, only to later say they're moving on with other candidates, even if you meet the original criteria.

Product Designer
I went through an 11-week interview process at Delta Defense. It was a confusing and frustrating experience where I was often given the runaround about decisions. By the time I reached the second final interview, eight weeks in, they said I'd hear back the next day. Three weeks and two follow-up emails later, I got an automated message saying the position was closed and they weren't hiring. It was surprising given the relationships I'd built and the time invested, especially since the recruiter didn't even reach out personally. It's disappointing to have wasted so much time and effort on a five-part process, but I guess it's good I won't be working for a company that claims honesty yet repeatedly lies and has poor organization, communication, and decision-making. Despite being aligned with their mission and meeting some great people, I'd advise others to avoid this company. Plenty of other organizations do similar work and treat candidates much better.
- What do you like about our company?
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- Could you please turn off your camera for 30 seconds and then teach me something in 2 minutes?
Graphic Designer
The first interview with the recruiter went pretty well. They were nice and made me feel relaxed. The questions were pretty standard for an initial chat, asking about my background and skills.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Are you able to work at the specified location?
Account Executive
It was a multi-part interview process. The first was to see if I fit, the second was for job details, and the third was with upper management. They ask for a lot from candidates with very little feedback and don't show much respect for the work put in. I understand wanting to ensure cultural fit, especially since it's a 2A based company and that's polarizing. However, the amount of work for the essay and 7-minute presentation was a turn-off, especially since I only got a response because I reached out directly. What really bothered me was getting a canned response from Indeed about not getting the job. In sales, rejection isn't the issue, but going through all that work and not getting a respectful "thanks for your time, but it's not a fit because..." feels like a slap in the face. For the sales presentation, they gave 5 bullet points to cover but didn't make it clear what they were looking for, just that they wanted to see verbal/non-verbal communication in a 7-minute or less presentation. This left me guessing how to structure it without clear guidelines. After the generic Indeed rejection, I tried reaching out to the hiring managers for insight on what to work on, but got no response. In sales, constructive criticism is key to growth, but investing 15+ hours and getting an auto-response makes me question the company culture.
- What do you anticipate being a challenge for you in this role?
- Can you share one of your key strengths?
- You'll need to create and deliver a sales presentation for the company's product to senior leadership.
