I had about 5-6 interview rounds, but the questions were easy. I was interviewing to see where I stand in the market, but I didn't learn much from the interview process because the questions weren't up to the standard of product companies.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

The recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn and was kinda pushy about setting up a call. After that, I had a phone screen with the manager, followed by a coding challenge. Things went smoothly, so they brought me onsite. The onsite involved behavioral, two technical interviews, one design interview, and two other rounds that didn't seem to add much value. The whole process dragged on, and the onsite had some repetitive rounds. I met some sharp folks, but also some who clearly need more training.

Presentation Technical Coding

It was a long but thorough interview process. I had to give a presentation on a subject I was expert in, in front of about 6 or 8 people. They were polite, interested, and asked good questions. There were some really good technical interviews too: some whiteboard/theory things that turned into an interesting discussion rather than just an interview (I learned a lot about ZFS). And a great coding exercise on my laptop, with the interviewer watching, instead of a whiteboard, where I had to write working code... which seemed like a much better way to test coding ability.
