First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dell Technologies.
Consultant
It was a board format with a presentation and job-focused questions. It was me and five or six other people. No one on the board ended up being my manager. It was for a rotational program.
- How did you find out about Dell?
Consultant
The interview process at Dell Technologies was pretty good. Applying was easy through their website. They communicated well, letting me know when they got my application and what was happening. It started with phone screens and then moved to video interviews, which covered everything. The interviewers were pros, knew their stuff, and explained the job and Dell's culture clearly. They even gave feedback afterward, which was helpful. The whole thing made it clear what Dell values and what the job is about. It was a good experience overall, showing Dell's professionalism and how much they care about candidates.
- Tell me about a difficult project you faced. What were the challenges, and how did you handle them? What was your specific contribution and the methods you used to make sure it was a success?
Advisor
The whole thing took over two months. I applied and then waited about a month with no response. HR sent over some pre-screening questions. After I answered, I waited another two weeks or so. I ended up reaching out to see if they were still considering me. Then, I got an invite for a different role, actually one I hadn't applied for, with a Manager. It had the same job description but was a different level. It felt more like another pre-screen than a real interview. Then, silence for three weeks, and suddenly an interview invite for *another* pre-screen, this time with a director. The following week, I had a panel interview with two people. We talked about my experience, the role, and some behavioral stuff. Everything was on Zoom. Honestly, the process dragged on way longer than it needed to, but otherwise, it was pretty standard.
- Can you share your motivation for wanting to join Dell and what unique value you can contribute to this specific position?
- Could you describe an instance where you collaborated effectively across different functional teams?
- Tell me about a time you worked cross-functionally.
