Behavioral Technical Case Presentation
So I applied online after seeing they got recent funding and checked out their product. First, there was a recruiter screen, then a hiring manager screen. After that, a case study (they wanted me to spend 2 hours on it offline to prepare for a presentation during the onsite). Then the onsite loop included the case study presentation, team fit, a business case study, and culture fit. The HM round was about product sense and execution, with questions specific to deliverr. My case study was about building a product for farm-to-zoo animal delivery. During the presentation, the interviewer asked weird questions about business model, pricing, shipping optimization, and edge cases, which felt unrealistic for a 2-hour prep. They seemed to have biases and didn't like my ideas. The interviewers weren't trained, which is bad. Culture fit was standard behavioral questions. Team fit with an engineering leader was good; they were smart and asked relevant stuff. The business case round felt like they wanted a biz ops/management consultant/PM hybrid, asking for free solutions to deliverr's problems. The feedback was that my answers were too high-level and complicated, and it wasn't clear what they actually wanted. Finally, I had to meet a group PM who also asked about deliverr's problems, and then I was rejected. It was a huge waste of time, similar to what other reviews mentioned about giving away free solutions. It felt like they just copied Amazon.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. It started with a one-hour phone screen that covered product sense and execution. After that, there was an onsite interview. Before the onsite, I was given a case study to prepare and submit. The onsite itself focused mainly on product sense, execution, behavioral questions, and the case study I had prepared.

You'll need to safeguard your work extensively. They'll give you a substantial assignment focused on enhancing an existing feature or developing a new one within their platform. Be warned, they'll likely implement your solution without further discussion. They present this with a demo account, providing ample data to optimize your effort, but you get no benefit. If you proceed, save it as a protected document. Exercise extreme caution, as they're known to plagiarize your work and then claim you're unqualified. I'm aware of this because after submitting my detailed proposals and specs, which they deemed exceptional, they became hesitant to engage further. Then, during the supposed 'final' interview stages, they deliberately pose engineering or unrelated questions to find reasons to reject you. It's quite transparent, and the staff exhibit a 'tech-bro' attitude (arrogant, self-righteous, know-it-alls, selfish individuals lacking empathy). Avoid this company.
