I had an interview with the Hiring Manager first. Then a 2-hour test was scheduled for a few days later. The initial email didn't include a Zoom link, so I let the recruiter know 30 minutes before the meeting. I asked them to resend it or call me, but they didn't. Someone did check my LinkedIn profile right after the interview was supposed to start. I waited for 20+ minutes but had to get back to my job. Later that day, I got a weak response saying they 'tried' to reach me. We rescheduled the first interview, and this time there was a proper Zoom link, though the interviewer was 10 minutes late. He said he had to cut the 45-minute meeting short by 10 minutes to pick up his child, so it was only 25 minutes. It went well, but I didn't have time for my questions. They then scheduled a 2-hour test for me in a VM. The hiring manager was late again, almost 10 minutes. The test was fair. I encountered a VM glitch and the manager was surprised by the CMD error I got. I knew the answers but couldn't input them. It seemed the VM wasn't checked beforehand. After the test, the manager reviewed the questions with me, including any I might have missed. It was a fair test, and he seemed knowledgeable and knew what he was looking for. I would have considered this job because it involves the type of applications I'm interested in, but the way they handled my time and the general disorganization were red flags. It seems like they don't have an efficient culture. I had to pass on the opportunity.

I applied online. On Thursday, a recruiter called me to discuss the job, its requirements, and salary. She mentioned the role needs Linux, Active Directory, and IIS experience. Later that day, I got an email asking for my availability for a 30-min meeting with the hiring manager on Wednesday. During the interview, the manager asked about my motivation for joining Delinea, my reasons for leaving my previous job, and how I handle angry customers. He also asked about my experience with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, specific duties) and what scripting languages I know. He didn't ask anything about Active Directory. The manager seemed a bit unfocused and said there would be another interview for technical skills. On Tuesday, I got an email saying he enjoyed our chat but I need stronger Linux and AD skills.

The senior recruiter reached out for a 30-minute chat about the role. Then, I got a technical assessment to do and send back. After that, I had a 1-hour technical phone interview with the Technical Lead where we talked about the job, schedule, and my knowledge of networking and tech. Questions covered customer service, SQL, and databases. Not long after, I went for a face-to-face interview at the DC office. They showed me around, introduced me to the team, and offered refreshments. The interview had two parts: first, a 1-hour Q&A about my goals and tech background. Then, a technical assessment on SQL, their product, and system troubleshooting. We reviewed my answers, and that was it. I got an offer two days later.
