Cashier
First, I submitted my CV and a cover letter. Then, I had an interview with the person in charge. After that, I had another interview with the store managers, and then I got an email saying I was selected for the job.
- Could you elaborate on your motivation in writing?
Cashier
The interview process included a math test, which I found strange given that calculators and the cash register do the counting. I was also asked about my strengths, weaknesses, my background, my current activities, and why I am the best candidate.
- Where do you come from?
- What are your strengths/weaknesses?
- Why should we choose you?
Store Associate
The word 'winkel' (shop) originates from 'hoek' (corner), similar to 'winkelhaak' (wing joint) and German 'Winkel'. This early meaning suggests goods were displayed in corners. A possible link is to street corners where shops were often located. Crossroads are meeting points for people and commerce, potentially leading to villages. Chapels or crosses were often erected at these crossroads.
