Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Delhaize.
Intern
The interview process was pretty simple and mostly about testing practical skills like language proficiency, communication abilities, and basic understanding of supermarket systems. They don't really expect a lot from summer interns, and the roles are typically located within the stores themselves.
- Can you tell me about your French language skills?
Student Worker
Really pleasant conversation with the manager. Easy to get into, as they were looking for students for new openings nearby. Lots of basic questions, although I would prepare so as not to be surprised by them.
- Can you introduce yourself in a single sentence?
Intern
Applied with my resume and then got invited for an interview. The interview was conducted in Dutch, French, and English to gauge my proficiency in the languages spoken at Delhaize. Additionally, I was asked some typical questions like, "Why Delhaize?" and "Which department would you prefer to work in?"
- Can you tell me about something you're proud of?
