So this was for the Cloud Platform Co-Op role. I had one interview with two developers. One of them, like, asked most of the questions. They were pretty general behavioral questions and about the projects on my resume. They also asked some stuff about my general knowledge with certain technologies like Docker. A few days later, I got the communication that I would not move on due to my superficial knowledge of cloud technologies, which are the main focus of the role.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Do you have experience with Docker?

So I had this technical phone screening, which wasn't with a recruiter, but actually with my hiring manager. He hit me with some basic tech questions like pass by reference vs pass by value, stack vs heap memory, and object-oriented programming concepts. After that, I had an in-person interview, and they even covered my travel costs. The in-person part involved a whiteboard session where I had to write out pseudocode for bit and string manipulation tasks. They also asked me to explain my senior design project on the whiteboard. Oh, and there was one conceptual object-oriented programming question that I totally messed up.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Tell me about object-oriented programming.
  • How does memory management work?
  • Can you explain bit manipulation?

Application was quickly followed up with an hr level phone interview. Then a 2 weeks wait before hearing back for a follow up interview with engineering team. Team asked about qualifications and later asked tricky questions to see applicants thought process. 1 week later I had my first offer below asking salary. I countered the offer and waited 2 weeks to hear back from hr. Job accepted but overall a long process with lots of waiting.
