The interview focused heavily on linguistic knowledge. After a short introduction, I was asked some technical questions, particularly about phonology and language technologies. They also gave me a practical test where I had to listen to a speech sample and then describe it. The whole thing lasted about an hour.

I was approached on LinkedIn and we moved to a first 30-minute interview with the HR Lead. They mentioned they'd give feedback the next week, between Monday and Tuesday. After two weeks, I emailed for feedback and right after, got a generic email saying I didn't make it. They were upfront that the role was to replace someone who was leaving. I found the interview itself okay, but not giving feedback unless prompted is a bit of a warning sign, so it was a neutral experience overall.

It was a 4 step process. First, a video interview with a recruiter to talk about my experience and KPIs. Then, an assignment to do some research. If they liked that, I had another interview with sales leadership about my sales process. Lastly, an interview with the COO. I wish I got more feedback since they make you do a research assignment that takes time and effort, especially when they say not putting effort means they won't move forward. I found it unprofessional and disrespectful of candidate time.

Coding Technical Behavioral

It was a pretty confusing and disappointing interview experience overall. First, I had a recruiter call, then I had to do a 2-hour coding test online. The test was supposed to be a data parsing question but it was really vague and didn't have good examples, making it hard to figure out what went wrong when the test cases failed. After the online test, things got really messy. I was scheduled for interviews without them even checking if I was available. Plus, I never knew what the interviews were about or who I'd be talking to. On top of that, random people from the company would just call me up to chat, even though I'd never met them. In one of these chats, after 30 minutes of small talk, I admitted I didn't have an agenda and wasn't sure of the point. They said they had questions they wanted to ask, but they handled it poorly, saying 'we don't have time so I'll just tell you the answer' by the end. Another interview was a proper one, but the interviewer went over the scheduled time by more than 10 minutes. It all felt very disorganized, with unclear expectations. The interviewers also didn't manage their time well, either going way over or rushing their questions at the very end.

  • Can you explain how to scale a database?
