First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DeepIntent.
Data Scientist
So the interview had three technical rounds. First one was a resume deep dive and project discussion. Second, they hit me with two medium SQL problems and asked me to code a Python script for XGBoost. Last round was with the CTO. They ultimately passed on me because they said I didn't have enough big data experience.
- Given a table with date, campaignid, and impression columns, can you write a SQL query to output campaignid, date, impression, and the daily impression percentage for each campaign?
Associate Project Manager
I interviewed at DeepIntent on May 24th. After clearing the HR round, I moved on to the technical round. The technical interview was good. The interviewer asked me questions about basic scrum, its practices, and how to implement them with a scrum team. I was specifically looking for a role focused on scrum, and the job description seemed to align with a Scrum Master position, even though I had applied for an Associate Project Manager role. The interviewer was very polite and kept me motivated. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job because they were looking for more practical experience in SCRUM. However, the HR representative, Amit Pande, was very helpful and supportive. The office seemed like a great place with good people to work with.
- Could you define scrum and explain how to implement scrum and Agile practices?
- What are the different roles within scrum?
- Can you describe the events in scrum?
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
Got a call from HR who was nice and explained everything, then set up the interview. After that, things went downhill. The interviewer, Kranti, didn't seem to know C# or coding. I solved the first problem and showed the output, but she didn't get it and insisted on a specific output format like [value1, value2, ...], yelling at me. This shows how some people there aren't competent. I finished the first coding task, and she gave me a second one that she didn't understand or explain well, so I had to figure it out myself and still solved it. I answered everything she asked, but it felt like she had no plan to hire me from the start. She was rude and didn't even introduce herself, just stared awkwardly. Don't waste your time interviewing here.
- Find a solution for the problem at https://leetcode.com/problems/split-array-with-equal-sum/description/.
- Please format the output array as [value1, value2, ...].
- Explain the second coding problem.
Brand Storyteller
I was reached out to by a recruiter from a third-party agency who was really interested in my background and what I could bring. The job title was a bit unclear, and didn't give much of a clue about the level. The hiring manager then had a proper interview with me. They seemed really keen on my experience in a specific part of the industry they felt they were missing something on, though they didn't ask tons of questions about it. I had to jump in and explain what I'd achieved there and what it meant. They asked quite a few questions about what sparked my interest in the company, its offerings, and the healthcare sector in general. It was a really nice chat, not very interview-like at all. I sent a follow-up email that same day with some extra background info they asked for, but haven't heard back since.
