I feel like this company should be looked into for potentially bad hiring ways. They have this hiring event that they say guarantees you an interview. This makes people sign up for their online event, but it's really just an attempt to break a world record for hiring events. They don't say how many people they're actually hiring, but they want thousands of people to show up and apply. It seems like they wanted to break the world record and also train their AI for free. During the event, they dodged specific questions about the company, mostly answering generic ones like 'do you hire in this/that country?'. The speakers just talked about how awesome they think Deel is. The 'guaranteed' interview was with an AI, where you answered simple questions to a bot about how to handle leads and close deals. As expected, almost nobody got past that stage. Deel was not upfront about how many jobs they needed to fill or where. And the event size did not match the number of hires they were actually looking for (if they were hiring at all).

I got an email from a recruiter in Europe. The screening call with the recruiter was fine, though he didn't use his camera. The next stage was an interview with a hiring manager in the US. She recorded the call without asking, which is illegal in Europe. It felt like she didn't like me and didn't ask any technical questions. My background was similar to hers, but I had a higher degree. I suspect she didn't want me as a competitor and that's why I wasn't advanced. I didn't even get to do a case study. I asked about the sales team structure, but her explanation was unclear and she spoke fast, seeming unsure. I later received a generic automated email. Also, be aware that if you work in an EU country but not in their office location, you'll be a contractor, not a direct employee. The salary was around 55k EUR, which isn't great, especially considering they're an EOR company and could easily offer a proper employment contract with more benefits and protection in Europe.

There were a total of 4 steps, and they mentioned it could potentially be more. It was a fast and good process overall. I ended up rejecting the offer because I accepted another position with a higher salary, as the salary at Deel was not high.
