A friend passed my resume to the Engineering Director and Automation Manager. They liked my background and set up a phone screening. After that, they called to check my availability for an in-person interview. They flew me out to Chicago and paid for my travel. The interviews mostly focused on my grasp of the role and involved some exercises to test my knowledge depth. I also had a good amount of time to ask questions and make sure I understood the job well.

After an initial recruiter contact in September, where we were told we'd hear back in a week or two, it took three weeks to get invited for another interview. This time, five other students and I were asked to travel to their office in Borger, TX. Upon arrival, we were treated to pizza and bowling on the first evening, which was a casual 'get to know you' event. The next day, from 8 AM to 3 PM, we underwent formal interviews with various panels. They seemed interested in my flexibility regarding relocation and potential work travel, as well as asking specific questions like 'What three things can you bring to this company?' and 'What was your favorite class?'

Around 40 of us were flown out to Denver for the interview. It consisted of 3 rounds where we met with different groups of HR and engineers. It was pretty stressful because most interviews were 3 or 4 people interviewing one candidate. Each interview lasted about 40 minutes, and the time they gave for us to respond felt really short.
