Applied for the MAP (Tech) program. The application process began with several online assessments in October, which included both psychometric and technical tests. After being shortlisted, I was notified in December that I needed to attend a one-day hackathon in January, and the date was firm. The hackathon itself was fairly standard, with the main difference being that teams were assigned, so success could depend on luck. However, the assessment primarily focused on leadership and communication skills, although some basic technical ability was also expected. Following this stage, there was a final panel interview held within a week, and this date also could not be changed.

The interview process had 3 rounds that were mostly general financial and HR based. They seemed a bit disorganized, and the interviewers were really focused on why I left my last job after just a year. I told them I was looking for growth and new opportunities, and that DBS seemed like a good place for that.

I had one interview round with the lead and CTO. They asked me technical questions and about my expectations. I felt I didn't put much effort into explaining my commitment when they questioned my recent internal role change, which I didn't like because it wasn't aligned with my career goals. However, I was shortlisted. This is where the bad experience started. I realized the hiring SOP wasn't aligned. There were too many background checks, and the people involved didn't communicate. They initially told me I passed the background checks, and the recruiter even said it was a done deal. Just before sending the offer letter, one of the checks SUDDENLY failed. I tried to appeal, but it was no use, and nobody followed up until I asked again. What a terrible process, giving candidates false hope! Thankfully, I didn't listen to the recruiter and didn't quit my current job.
