First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DAVIDsTEA.
Assistant Store Manager
I applied and heard back from the manager about two weeks later over the phone. They asked me a few questions and then scheduled a face-to-face interview. I met with the manager and they asked me various questions, such as the difference between a manager and a leader, and gave me some situational questions. Two days later, they contacted me to say I'd made it to the next round of interviews, which would be on the phone with another manager.
- What would you do if a customer complained about a staff member being rude to them?
Store Manager
I first applied online and the Market Manager reached out to me pretty quickly. Then I had phone interviews with the District Manager, then the US HR Manager, and finally the US Director. It was really tough, like one of the hardest interviews I've done, but I feel like they genuinely want to hire the best people and they give us a lot of freedom to manage our stores like our own little businesses.
- Tell me about your experience with networking.
Store Manager
You just gotta send your resume on the website, they don't take any CVs in the stores. If they pick you, you'll first have a face-to-face interview with a district manager, and if that goes well, then you'll have a second interview over the phone with an HR rep.
- Tell me about your experience.
- What's your approach when an employee isn't following your instructions?
- How do you get your store ready for a special event?
