First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at David Jones.
Sales Professional
The hiring process was straightforward. I received a response within a couple of weeks. I believe my confidence and good presentation played a big part, as I was immediately complimented on how well I presented myself. The interview involved questions about my availability and general suitability for the role.
- In what ways can you contribute to the company's success?
Sales Assistant
It was a group interview and then a 1v1 interview, lasting about 1.5 hours. The vibe was pretty chill. We had to talk about some situations, and then two people from the group had to give a presentation. After that, in the 1v1, they asked me about when I could work and which store I liked best.
- Tell me about your customer service skills.
- Let's discuss some hypothetical customer service situations.
- What is your availability?
Sales Assistant
We started with a group interview with about 20 people and 5-7 managers. During this group interview, we had to discuss a retail scenario with the team and answer prepared questions in front of everyone. After that, there was a 1 on 1 interview where they asked about availability, preferred location, holidays planned, and area preference like beauty or homeware.
- If you could only buy one thing from David Jones, what would it be?
- Describe a retail scenario.
- How would you ensure clients are happy?
